Veterans' Services

Veterans’ Services programs are mandated in accordance with Massachusetts General Law and are administered under state guidelines to provide information, advice and assistance regarding benefits to veterans and their families. Requests are as diverse as burial markers, lost documents, replacement medals and information regarding benefits for veterans.

Weston is part of the West Suburban Veterans' District, sharing professional staff with the towns of Wellesley, Wayland, and Needham. Weston veterans in need of service can meet with the Director of Veterans' Services every Wednesday at either the following locations in Weston:
  • Town Hall - 11 Town House Road
    from 10:00 a.m. to noon
  • Council on Aging - 20 Alphabet Lane
    from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Nursing Home Care

VA benefits provide for a range of long-term services which include:
  • Adult Day Care
  • Domiciliary Care
  • Geriatric Evaluation
  • Nursing Home Care
  • Respite Care
Nursing home benefits may be provided for a service-connected condition or if the veteran has a service-connected disability rating of 70% or more. These veterans are eligible for admission to extended care services and indefinite care in a VA nursing home. Veterans may be discharged from nursing home care when it is no longer needed, i.e., if the needs can be met at home or in a private nursing home closer to the family.
