Deer management is only one of the many programs the Commission has implemented to fulfill its mission of managing Weston's natural resources for the benefit of people, plants, and all wildlife. The Conservation Commission seeks a balanced approach to land management so that no single species dominates the landscape to the detriment of other flora and fauna.
Since 2012, the Weston Conservation Commission has allowed bow hunting for deer on select Conservation Land parcels by permit only. The 2017 season runs October 16 – December 30, Monday through Saturday from sunrise to sunset. Approved hunters must pass a proficiency test and hunt from tree stands only. The use of guns is prohibited on Town Conservation Land. Please read the deer hunting FAQ or contact the Conservation Department for more information.
