Contractors are now mobilizing to begin the paving process on the new rail trail and will be starting in Wayland, heading east through Weston. Trail users are strongly cautioned to avoid using the rail trail, even crossing at conservation land trailheads, during paving work. Fresh pavement is extremely hot (300 degrees) and it does require time to cure.
Pavement will be laid in two installments: The base layer of pavement is being installed the week of June 11th. The top layer is anticipated to be installed late June/early July. It is very important to avoid using the rail trail during these times to avoid injury to self and animal and to prevent damage to the pavement.Thank you for your cooperation.
