Course Description
As seniors, many students become more aware of their place in the community as learners, athletes, club members, and citizens. By studying various psychological theories, students better understand their own experiences. Erikson, Freud, Gilligan, Maslow, Kohlberg, and Skinner are the sources for testing developmental ideas. Students are asked to think about issues involving smoking, drugs, cults, alcohol, and AIDS. Cognitive and decision-making skills are stressed as the student becomes more self-aware. Films and speakers are integral to the course. Individual participation is essential in communication, motivation, and class discussion. Journal writing is requi red. |
