Technology/Engineering MCAS Review

• Introduce House Project- Design and build a small house or vacation house ( less than 2500 sq ft)
• Will do individual designs
• Model can be built with partners( or individually)
• Selecting a site- location, location, location
  North vs South Facing- Southern exposure is warmed by the sun
• Topography, soil, drainage Trees, set-back, lot-size
• It is important that houses be affordable.

• File-New
• Set Lot Size- 60’ x 80’
• Wall Tool- drag sample template onto workspace or draw your own walls 25’ x 50’
• Add two interior walls
• Use Text Tool to Label Rooms
• Add exterior doors, interior doors, windows
• Design- Work on Second Floor
• Drag same design on top of first- use arrow keys to nudge
• Add Stairs and Floor Cut-out
• Add railings
• Add Roof- fit to corners
• Save File to folder
• 3D Views- Framing
• Helicopter tool
