Encoding- Preparing the message in a form in which it can be sent
Transmitting- Sending the message
Channel- The Route of the message
Receiver- Accepts the transmitted message
Decoding- Changing the message into a form in which a person can understand it

Even a simple conversation bewteen friends involves encoding our intentions into words, transmitting them through speech, receiving them through thoughtful listening, then decoding the intent of the speaker.
