Lesson #3D- One-Motor Cars

Prep- Make Gear Wall; Move Slideshow on Gears to server

  • Lock door
  • Gears- Gearing Up/Gearing down
  • Motor can be used as a generator

Build one-motor car and generator ( gear wall)

  • Motor may not be attached directly to wheel
  • May use either crown gear or spur gear
  • Gear wall on generator must make the motor speed up
  • Go for speed
  • Hint- if gears do not mesh, insert plates or move over

  • Finish one-motor car and generator- the generator should Gear Up
  • Adding a lamp makes it harder to crank
  • Car Race, check off
  • Disassemble and sort pieces and return to bins, except for 2 motors
