Veterans’ Services programs are mandated in accordance with Massachusetts General Law and are administered under state guidelines to provide information, advice and assistance regarding benefits to veterans and their families. Requests are as diverse as burial markers, lost documents, replacement medals and information regarding benefits for veterans.
Veterans Service Officer (VSO)
Weston is pleased to announce we have a new Veterans Service Officer (VSO). Retired Marine Corps Major TJ Tedeschi, will serve as Weston's Veterans Service Officer (VSO). A career decorated Veteran who spent 21 years on active duty. Tedeschi's role is to help Veterans and their families access all eligible benefits and services.

Tedeschi will be here in Weston on Wednesdays: in Town Hall (Conference Room)from 9am-12pm, and at the Council on Aging from 1pm - 4pm.
Nursing Home Care
VA benefits provide for a range of long-term services which include:
- Adult Day Care
- Domiciliary Care
- Geriatric Evaluation
- Nursing Home Care
- Respite Care
Nursing home benefits may be provided for a service-connected condition or if the veteran has a service-connected disability rating of 70% or more. These veterans are eligible for admission to extended care services and indefinite care in a VA nursing home. Veterans may be discharged from nursing home care when it is no longer needed, i.e., if the needs can be met at home or in a private nursing home closer to the family.
