The Bow Hunting Program is limited to hunters chosen by the Conservation Commission. Preference will be given to residents, municipal employees, and hunters with demonstrated bow hunting experience. Many of the hunters in the program from last year will be returning and as a result, we anticipate only accepting 5-8 new hunters for this year’s program. Selected bow hunters will be interviewed by Weston’s Volunteer Bow Hunting Coordinator and will be required to pass a proficiency test.
Because our goal is to reduce the deer herd, approved hunters must possess a Zone 10 antler-less deer permit. We understand that Division of Fisheries and Wildlife (DFW) has not yet issued those permits; however, you will need to submit a copy of your antler-less deer permit prior to formal acceptance into the program.
