Post-war subdivisions also have their own particular character. For example, King's Grant features "modern" houses nestled unobtrusively on wooded lots.
Before building, look at houses nearby:
What size are they?
What style are they?
What materials are used?
How are houses landscaped?
How can a new house be designed to fit in?
These 2 houses are located across the street from each other on Lexington Street in Weston. The houses to the left display 1 built in the 1920s and the other in 1998. The newer house, while it has its own individual detailing, clearly takes its cue from the earlier house in size, style, color and materials. The result is a new house in harmony with its surroundings.
