Valentine-Making at the Spellman

Saturday, February 8, 2020

Sure, you can send e-cards or paper cards to your Valentine, but why not earn a few loving points by creating your own card with a special message? The Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History is holding its annual Valentine Making Day and it has thousands of vintage U.S. Love Stamps issued over the years that visitors can use to decorate their cards and envelopes, as well as make Valentine gifts such as mugs and bookmarks. The museum will provide stationery and free postage if you send your card from the Museum. Arrive anytime during the event. There will be Love Stamps on display along with special Post Office cancellations from towns including Valentine, Texas; Loving, N.M.; and Romance, Ark. In addition, the Museum has stamps celebrating Black History Month on exhibit and to celebrate Black History Month and Presidents’ Day, visitors can make a free stamp collection of famous African-Americans and U.S. presidents.
