Like reading comics and graphic novels? Now, it’s your turn to start your own in this 2-hour, comics-making boot camp offered through Zoom! We’ll discuss character development and plot strategy, then you’ll be coached in drawing a graphic novel page. You’ll learn how to create a small sketch—or thumbnail—of your page; then, you’ll learn how to create finished art. In addition to storytelling, topics include lettering, penciling, and creating a finished graphic novel page. This is a workshop best suited for children entering the second through eighth grades, and it’s taught by Jonathan Todd, a graphic novelist finishing his first book for Scholastic.
