A Community Sidewalk Art Project

Tuesday, July 20
Timeslots: 9:30-11:30 & 1:00-3:00   & 3:00-4:00

Help us decorate our sidewalk in a community art project! You will be provided chalk and a square of pavement along the Community Center’s sidewalk outside the COA to create your own piece of sidewalk art. Collectively, these artworks will create a beautiful entrance to welcome and inspire those who visit. All ages - individuals and families welcome! You must be able to sit or kneel on the pavement so we suggest bringing a cushion or gardening mat. Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to register and select a 2-hour timeslot to work on your artwork. Please no religious or political themed artwork. The artwork will remain until it rains, at which time we will remove the chalk from the sidewalk in adherence to environmental guidelines.

The Life of DaVinci

The museum comes to you in this engaging presentation by Jane Blair, founder of ArtMatters, an art awareness and education organization. Da Vinci is acclaimed as one of the greatest painters in the world, but painting was not what he did the best. Da Vinci was a scientist, chemist, mathematician, engineer, designer of military equipment and strategist, a sculptor, concert level musician and inventor. The crown jewel of Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado and an architectural masterpiece by any standard, Cliff Palace, is the largest cliff dwelling in North America. Today, it stands as testament to the engineering and artistic achievements of the Ancestral Pueblo people. Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to register.
