Whether Covid or the cold, those who didn't want to leave the house had plenty to do on Zoom! We kicked off the month with record-breaking attendance at our Baron Von Steuben and the Valley Forge Winter presentation with historian Richard Bell. Those curious (or confused) by crypto and blockchain were able to satiate their curiosity with a presentation by 1989 Weston High School graduate and CEO of Flipside Crypto, Dave Balter.
To compliment our incredible travel programs, for the first time we offered a live walking tour of Auckland's Harbourside, where a local your guide walked us along the water to sight-see and attendees witnessed the first sunrise of the day.
For those non-history, business, or travelling folks, there were presentations on Women Artists of the 20th Century, Abolition to Civil Rights in Music, and a program on knee and hip arthritis exercises.
The Women's Community League of Weston hosted a wonderful Valentine's Day celebration. The Community Center Great Room was decorated elaborately with red and pink balloons and valentines décor galore! Tea sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, and a variety of Italian pastries were enjoyed while guitarist Chris Carter played love songs on the guitar. What’s Valentine’s Day with out chocolate? WCL set up a “candy bar” so that attendees could select their favorite chocolates and candies and make a to-go bag to enjoy later!
