Outdoor Ice Skating

Outdoor Ice Skating in Weston

It is that time of year! The outdoor rink has been installed and the water at College Pond is freezing over.  Time to dust of those ice skates and get ready to go outdoors!

The Weston Recreation Department is once again pleased to be able to offer outdoor skating opportunities at both College Pond and the outdoor rink.  This year, a rink has been placed at the Field School Field located on Alphabet Lane between the Community Center, Library and Field School. College Pond will also have the warming hut open during specific hours on weekends and February vacation days when conditions are favorable for skating.

Conditions will be monitored daily throughout the season and posted publicly.  The Recreation Department will rate conditions as follows:

FAVORABLE - Ice thickness has been measured at 6-inches or more.  Conditions are favorable for ice skating.

UNFAVORABLE - Ice thickness has been measured at less than 6-inches, or other conditions - i.e. excessive snow - has created conditions that could compromise safety.  Skaters are strongly recommended to stay off of the ice.

At all times, skaters are warned that you must SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK as there is always a chance that the ice could be weak in spots, even in the most favorable conditions.

Current Conditions:
Field School Field Rink - Unfavorable
College Pond - Unfavorable

Conditions continue to improve, a new update will be communicated on Saturday morning.

Conditions will always be posted on the Town's website at www.weston.org/1182/Winter-Ice-Skating.  To be notified of the latest condition changes, please visit www.weston.org/list.aspx and select "Recreation Happenings" (under Notify Me).
