Recreation Master Plan public information gathering meeting Wednesday, February 13
The Town of Weston is in the process of developing a new Recreation Master Plan and wants your input. The last Recreation Master Plan was developed in 2005 and resulted in the creation of, or upgrades to, new and existing playing fields over a ten-year period. Some of those projects included creating an artificial turf field at the high school, the building of Burchard Park, and the rehabilitation of Alphabet Field.
We are now beginning a new master plan process and will be analyzing current and future needs of the Town. This time, along with outdoor fields and courts, we will also be looking into indoor facility needs. Some examples of what are being considered include the continued rehabilitation/expansion/creation of athletic fields and courts, possible expansion of the pool at the Weston Middle School, and the need for additional gymnasium space and/or indoor field house.
Join us for a public information gathering session on Wednesday, February 13 at 7 PM in the Weston Community Center. We would like your input on the current state of the Town’s recreation facilities and what changes you think are needed over the next ten years.
