  1. Concert: Viola Quartet with Amos Lawrence

    December 2, 2018, 3:00 PM @ Community Room

The Library Concert Series will be treated to a rare programming luxury, namely two viola quintets. One is by Mozart and one by Brahms, and they are among the most glorious chamber music works in the repertoire. The viola quintets are so named because in addition to the regular string quartet lineup there is an extra viola, that deep and rich inner voice that gives tremendous depth to the music. In the hands of the elegant Mozart, his C Major Quintet is a total delight, and in the hands of Brahms, his G Major Quintet Opus 111 is a rich and powerful experience.
