Children and adults can decorate tree ornaments and make holiday gifts with stamps from around the world during this annual event. In addition, visitors can do holiday stamp hunts and games, create their own holiday stamp designs, make stamp mosaics, and see displays of Christmas stamps from the USA and worldwide. Volunteers will demonstrate how to make holiday cards and unique envelopes. Free postage using vintage Christmas stamps will be available to mail the cards. Children can write their letters to Santa Claus and post them in the Museum’s North Pole mailbox. A unique North Pole museum cancellation will be used and Santa has said he'll write back. Children can also have their picture taken and make it into a special postage stamp. Each child will also receive a free First Day Cover Christmas stamp card. Tips about how to start a stamp collection will be offered and each child can make a free collection of holiday stamps to take home, as well as a free packet of stamps.

Why read to a dog? Because a dog is friendly and fuzzy and loves the attention of being read to! Gain confidence in your reading aloud skills and enjoy the company of Maggie, our fabulous reading buddy. The program is in the Storytelling Room--when reading, only the reader, Maggie and Katie, her trainer are in the room. Parents and siblings must remain outside. Readers just gaining confidence don't need an audience. (You can peek in through the window though!)
Maggie is a certified therapy dog with BONES.
