  1. Cradles to Crayons Children's Clothing/Baby Gear Drive

    March 21, 2019, All Day @ Memorial Pool Parking Lot

    Let’s all Spring clean for a good cause! Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization that helps to provide low-income and homeless children in the local Boston area with essential items they need to thrive - free of charge. We can accept the following new or gently used items in good condition:
    Children’s clothing (no rips or stains please)
    Children's shoes and winter boots
    Toys and board books
    New children’s underwear, socks and pajamas
    Baby gear (strollers, car seats, pack-n-plays, swings, bouncy seats – must be less than 5 years old)
    Please note - NO FURNITURE, NO CRIBS, NO RIDE-ON TOYS, NO STUFFED ANIMALS ACCEPTED

    This “slow flow” class is appropriate for anyone who can comfortably get up and down of a yoga mat. No previous yoga experience is required and everyone is encouraged to move at his or her own pace. Yoga poses can increase strength, improve mobility and enhance balance. Through poses or “asana,” yoga offers the opportunity to connect to the breath and cultivate inner focus and calm. Mats and props are available.

    A high energy class where you will learn dance moves to Latin and world music songs, while the instructor leads and breaks the moves down into smaller steps. Ability to step forward, backward and to each side is useful in this class, but all levels are welcome. If you like to dance, you’ll love this class! Participants will improve their capacity in cardio, endurance and coordination by learning and repeating dance moves to the beat of the rhythm.

    Thi is a low-impact workout that's gentle on your joints and good for your mind, body and soul. Each dance uses foot patterns only and beginner steps are learned in minutes. Shoes with flat, smooth bottoms are best.

  1. Opera for Everyone: Die Walkure

    More than any other art form opera is meant to appeal directly to the senses. All you need are eyes, ears, and a soul to appreciate opera. Richard Wagner's series of operas "The Ring of the Nibelung," which includes "The Valkyrie," is based on an old German legend. Come and explore one of the world's most beloved operas. Speaker Erika Reitshamer is an engaging teacher whose knowledge and love of opera will inspire you, and her open style and sense of humor are irresistible. She has lectured on opera for many years and was active in the formation of the Boston Lyric Opera Company more than 40 years ago.
