Girls Who Code, a national nonprofit working to close the gender gap in tech, seeks to reverse the decline by teaching 100,000 girls to code by the end of 2018. The Girls Who Code Club is a free after-school program for 6-12th grade girls to use computer science to impact their community. The Club will be hosted at the Weston Public Library with a group of 20 students and will be taught every Tuesday starting September 24th by industry professionals in computer science.

Master watercolor techniques that bring your art to a new level. All levels welcome. Explore traditional and modern techniques that will take your landscape, still life, floral and figure paintings up a notch. We will discuss the basics of composition, color, value and essential techniques in capturing light and shadow. Contact the COA to sign up. Limit 14.

T'ai Chi is an ancient form of slow Chinese exercise that enhances the flow of internal energy in the body. The practice helps improve balance, joint flexibility, and muscle tone, as well as promotes relaxation, healing, and well-being. As we practice and refine the form (the choreographed routine) we also explore deeper concepts and philosophies of T'ai Chi.

Take the day to explore the MFA! The MFA is home to more than 450,000 works of art and various exhibitions, including a feature exhibition on Ancient Nubia Now. You can spend the day as you wish, as this will not be a guided trip. Stop by the bookstore to shop, join in on a free tour or take a break and enjoy the café. Tickets to this event were generously donated by an MFA patron. Limit 11. Free admission and transportation. Contact the COA to sign up.

This program consists of a set of simplified movements from T'ai Chi that are easier to follow and learn than the Traditional T'ai Chi form. With simpler movements, we are able to focus more on the aspects of T'ai Chi that help improve and maintain balance.
