  1. Pumpkin Fest – The Great Pumpkin Run/Walk/Roll

    To the Weston Community: We invite you to participate in Weston High School’s 15th annual (COVID-adapted) Pumpkin Festival in support of Camp Sunshine, a camp for terminally ill children in Casco, Maine!

    While this event has previously been run as an in-person festival on the Town Green, due to COVID-19 town and state-wide restrictions and safety concerns, Camp Sunshine has made the decision that all of their events this fall will be encompassed into a week-long virtual “Pumpkin Fest – The Great Pumpkin Run/Walk/Roll”

    To be a part of this, you can walk, run, or bike a 5k, 10k, half-marathon, or a marathon (cumulative over the entire week). You can also win prizes for the distance you walk, run, or bike, and how much you fundraise!

  1. Exercise for Every Body

    This class provides cardio, stretching & strengthening in a non-threatening environment. Participants work on cardiopulmonary fitness, balance, improve joint range of motion and learn proper form for strength training of both upper and lower body. Exercises are done standing, but chairs are available if one needs to sit down during the class. It is appropriate for all levels of fitness..

  2. Zumba with Ellen

    A high energy class with dance moves to Latin and world music songs, while the instructor leads and breaks the moves down into smaller steps. Ability to step forward, backward and to each side is useful in this class, but all levels are welcome.

  3. Medicare Open Enrollment Information Session

    As you may know, there are changes to Medicare every year. In this Zoom information session led by Weston’s SHINE counselors you will learn about the 2021 changes and how they may affect you. It will also include an overview of Medicare for those who are approaching Medicare eligibility or who are already enrolled in Medicare. Call the COA to register for this SHINE Zoom Presentation. For those on Medicare, changes to your coverage can be made during Open Enrollment, October 15–December 7. SHINE counselors provide free Medicare counseling to help your compare your options. Call the COA to sign up for a phone appointment.

  4. Functional Fitness

    This class focuses on exercises and movements that tone muscles and improve the ability to perform everyday activities. The main emphasis is on core strengthening to improve balance, posture, coordination, stability, range of motion and flexibility. There is a combination of chair and standing exercises helps focus on different muscle groups, minimizing the possibility of repetitive movement injuries. Functional Fitness is open to all levels of fitness and includes use of dyna bands, light hand/leg weights & pilates rings, all of which are supplied.

    This “slow flow” class is for anyone who can get up and down off a yoga mat. No previous experience is required and everyone moves at his or her own pace. Yoga poses increase strength, improve mobility and enhance balance. Mats and props provided.
