Relax, re-energize, re-vitalize. Practice gentle stretches to release tension from mind and body, without stress, strain, or competition. Open to all levels, beginners welcome, as the practice promotes listening to your body and doing what feels right. Mats are available.

A centuries-old practice, meditation has entered into homes, office buildings, schools, and hospitals as a way to alleviate stress. The COA offers a 30-minute period of meditation every Wednesday morning where you can join others in quiet seated personal meditation to quiet your mind of stressful thoughts. New to meditation? Join us and try it out as you sit, breathe, and quiet your thoughts in this supportive group environment.

Using resistance bands and exercises set to upbeat music, you’ll focus on areas like muscle toning, core strengthening and lower back support. Ankle strengthening will improve balance and stretching helps your posture. Learn how you can prevent falls; in the event of one you’ll learn techniques for managing trips and landings.

Dr. Suzanne Rappaport’s Occupational Therapy Program students at Regis College will present ways to stay safe, comfortable and healthy at home. Suggestions include home improvements to age in place, internet safety, social activities, energy preparedness and alternative forms of transportation.
