The Longfellow House Washington's Headquarters National Historic Site has a rich and unique history; it was home to Henry W. Longfellow, one of the world’s foremost 19th century poets, and served as headquarters for General George Washington during the Siege of Boston, July 1775-1776. The COA offers a 30-minute period of meditation every Wednesday morning where you can join others in quiet seated personal meditation to quiet your mind of stressful thoughts. New to meditation? Using resistance bands and exercises set to upbeat music, you’ll focus on areas like muscle toning, core strengthening and lower back support. Ankle strengthening will improve balance and stretching helps your posture. Learn how you can prevent falls; in the event of one you’ll learn techniques for managing trips and landings.
